- The slaveholder named Giovanni Battista Spinola sells an enslaved child named Caterina, who is described as either Turkish or Bosnian, and who is approximately 12 years of age, to a silk merchant named Giacomo Paxerio, for 220 Genoese lire. A payment of 170 lire is made in a measure of silk and brocades of various colours, while the remaining 50 lire was paid in account currency. The contract allows Giacomo to return the enslaved Caterina to Giovanni Battista within three years and receive his payment back, provided that Caterina remains healthy and strong.
