- The slaveholder named Niccolò Barbaro, a merchant from Venice, leases out an enslaved Circassian woman named Scaramuccia, who is approximately 24 years of age, to the Genoese merchants Pellegro and Francesco de Gradis, for a term of 2½ years and a total price of 17½ Genoese ducats. Niccolò is represented in the contract by his brother Giovanni who serves as his procurator and who presents a notarial contract enacted in Venice as proof. This contract is a sub-lease. The enslaved Scaramuccia had previously been leased to Niccolò and Giovanni Barbaro by the Milanese merchant named Venturino Borromeo on 22 November 1463.
