The slaveholders, cloth merchants, and brothers named Agostino and Francesco de Cazerio manumit an enslaved Circassian woman named Lucia, who is approximately 37 years of age. The liberated Lucia agrees to work as a household servant without salary for ten years for the families of Agostino and Francesco as a condition of the manumission. The contract also specifically mentions that should Lucia fail to serve for the full ten-year term then she loses her freedom and reverts to the status of an enslaved person. Lucia was present during the manumission and was represented by the enacting notary Tommaso Duracino. The contract was extracted.
