- The slaveholders and brothers named Paolo de Franchi and Pietro Ambrogio de Franchi manumit an enslaved woman named Marta. The shoemaker named Lorenzo Guastavino pays 30 Genoese lire to the brothers to secure the manumission. The brothers are represented in the transaction by another Paolo de Franchi (from another branch of the family) who serves as their procurator by a power of attorney contract enacted on 18 January 1448 by Branca Bagnara. The enslaved Marta is also absent during the transaction and is represented by the enacting notary Branca Bagnara. The brothers retain the right of patronage.
