- The slaveholders Giovanni Battista de Manci from Naples, Vito Antonio de Aquaviva in the Duchy of Bari, Paride Albertino from Amatrice, and Giovanni di Giacomo from Amatrice manumit an enslaved Muslim woman from Aguer, in Morocco, named Margarita, and who is approximately 27 years of age, after receiving a ransom payment of 35 scudi from Ludovic de Lacatin de Molines. These men had taken Margarita during the looting that occurred after Siege of Genoa in May 1522, seizing her from her holder Demetrio Ittaliano. The manumission also notes that Ludovic, who was a French man resident in Genoa, was the father of Margarita's child.
