If the enslaved Simona is unable to provide adequate nursing for the family of Ambrogio, then he can return her and received an amount proportional to the unused time of service. The contract also states that Simona is strictly limited to caring for the child of Ambrogio and has no obligation to perform other tasks outside the household related to the child’s care and nourishment.
