  The slaveholder and widow named Mariola de Turrilia, wife of the deceased Bartolomeo de Levante, leases out the enslaved Circassian named Maddalena, who is 28 years of age, to the noblewoman named Despina Pinelli, for a term of 12 years and total payment of 150 Genoese lire. Mariola is represented by the notary Lorenzo Costa who serves as her procurator. The contract states that if the enslaved Maddalena gives birth during the term of the lease then Despina is prohibited from allowing her to nurse the child. If Despina decides to sublease the enslaved Maddalena then Mariola has the option to take her back by paying a prorated amount based on the service time completed. The risk that Maddalena might die during the term of the lease is assumed by Despina and Mariola is not obliged to refund the lease price should this happen.

  The slaveholder named Maria Burone leases out an enslaved Circassian woman named Maddalena, who is approximately 45 years of age, to a nobleman named Giuliano Grimaldi, for a term of 9 years and total payment of 90 Genoese lire. Maria had received the enslaved Maddalena to fulfill her dowry claim against her deceased husband Ambrogio de Albingana from the notary Battista de Palodio, who served as the curator of the estate of Ambrogio. The enslaved Maddalena is manumitted at the end of the term of service with Maria retaining the right of patronage.

  The slaveholder named Andrea Bonerio manumits an enslaved Bosnian woman named Caterina, who is approximately 32 years of age. The manumission is made in his role as the curator of the property of the deceased Ottaviano Imperiale, who held Caterina as his servant and who he had leased to Battista Piccamiglio for a term of 16 years in a contract enacted on 18 December 1479. The manumission will take effect when the term of lease to Battista (or his father Giovanni) has been completed. Andrea retains the right of patronage.

  The slaveholder named Bernardo Aucreto leases out an enslaved Abkhazan woman named Caterina, who is approximately 20 years old, to the merchant named Teodoro de Fornari, for a term of 12 years and total payment of 120 Genoese lire.

  The slaveholder named Stregino Salvago leases out an enslaved Circassian woman named Lucia, who is approximately 22 years of age, to the notary Giovanni de Alexandria, for a term of six years and total payment of 50 Genoese lire. The enslaved Lucia is leased for the purpose of wet-nursing. Giovanni also agrees to pay the ½ florin annual tax for the possession of an enslaved person during the six-year term.

  The slaveholder named Domenico Lercari leases out an enslaved woman named Catalina to the merchant named Girolamo Fieschi, for a term of three years and a total payment of 60 Genoese lire. She is leased for the purpose of wet nursing. The contract also notes that the lease had started on 1 October 1415 and that Girolamo also agrees to pay the ½ florin annual tax for the possession of an enslaved person during the three-year term. Girolamo also assumes any risk should the enslaved Caterina be unable to nurse during the three year term.

The lease is for the purpose of wet nursing. Giacomo is represented in the contract by the silk spinner named Viceto de Carmagnola who serves as his representative. If at any time during the lease the enslaved Catalina is unable to provide sufficient nursing, then she can be returned and the amount for the remaining period returned to Tobia. Tobia also lends Viceto another 20 Genoese lire as part of the contract.
