The enslaved Elena is to be manumitted at the end of the term of service. The principals waive all claims and guarantees regarding the health of Elena and the contract notes that she was exchanged about one year before this enactment. Isolta retains the right of patronage after the manumission. The contract also lists the following places where Marco agrees to uphold the conditions specified in the contract: Genoa, Savona, Lombardy, Milan, Nice, Pisa, Albenga, Florence, Venice, Rhodes, Chios, Pera, and Caffa. This indicates that Marco was likely an itinerant merchant who intended to bring Elena with him during his travels and that the principals wanted to ensure that the contract would remain in force across the Mediterranean."
